I've been anxiously waiting for the Wii Fit to be released. When I first heard about it, I was Wiiless...but that changed a few weeks ago when Matt and I acquired a Wii. Since then I've been waiting patiently for Wednesday, May 21st to arrive...the Wii Fit release date. Matt was able to find Wii Fit at Circuit City after checking Target, who was already out. Now I just had to wait till 6pm when I got off of work.
After getting off of work I was ready to test out my new Wii Fit. Me and my Mii were ready to work out. It asked my age and height, took my weight and gave me my BMI....an answer I'd already known. It told me that I was overweight....the reason why I wanted the Wii Fit. Since moving to the desert 7 yrs ago I've joined 3 different gyms, purchased a treadmill that I use irregularly and a few exercise videos that probably need dusting. I'm ready for something new and exciting! Wii Fit offers Aerobics, Yoga, Strength Training and Balancing. Each one has a few different exercise to choose from and the more you do, the more exercises you unlock.
I thought it would be fun to keep a daily diary of my Wii Fit usage and track my fitness. So far I've used it twice, day 1 & 3. I first tried aerobics. I'd done step aerobics in high school and enjoyed it. The rhythm was kinda slow but today, day 3, I was able to unlock a new, faster and more challenging step aerobics. I actually felt like I'd gotten a slight workout. I'm slowly working into the Yoga, something I've always wanted to do. The balancing games and strength training workouts are fun and challenging.
I'd love to hear comments from anyone else who has or has tried a Wii Fit!
